MAS ADINEGORO, THE IPY & NATIONAL LEADER
Suatu hari saya iseng chat di grup komunitas:
“Siapa yang sedang berada di area koordinat ini, silakan merapat. Ngopi bareng yuk.”
Dari sekian ratus anggota grup—
yang biasanya aktifnya cuma read doang—
yang jawab cuma satu orang.
Mas Adinegoro.
Tanpa basa-basi, langsung singkat, padat, militer:
“Siap, Bang. Merapat. Saya sedang stay di area hotel itu.”
Titik.
Tidak pakai emoji.
Tidak pakai alasan.
Dan benar saja…
30 menit kemudian, Mas Adinegoro benar-benar muncul
di Jalan Menenangkan Pikiran—
salah satu area paling bergengsi di tengah Kota Surabaya.
Ini bukan janji “OTW” versi WhatsApp,
ini OTW sungguhan.
Akhirnya, ya sudah…
kami duduk, ngobrol, diskusi ringan tapi berbobot:
PIC.
Di acara besar.
Di kota besar.
Dengan warga kota besar.
Padahal Mas Adi ini junior saya.
Tapi prestasinya?
Pernah menjabat sebagai National Leader.
Bukan nasional di grup WhatsApp.
Tapi nasional sungguhan.
Saya cuma bisa manggut-manggut sambil menyeruput kopi,
dalam hati berkata:
“Ini PY (Participating Youth) bukan cuma merapat cepat,
tapi juga naik level cepat.”
Singkatnya:
Top markotop. Good marsogut untuk Mas Adinegoro.
Dan satu hal yang pasti,
kalau nanti saya chat lagi soal ngopi di koordinat random—
saya sudah tahu:
Mas Adinegoro pasti datang duluan.

MAS ADINEGORO, THE IPY & NATIONAL LEADER
One day, just for fun, I dropped a message in our community group chat:
“Anyone currently around this coordinate, please come over. Let’s grab some coffee.”
Out of hundreds of group members—
who are usually very active at… reading only—
only one person replied.
Mas Adinegoro.
No small talk.
Short, clear, military-style:
“Ready, Bro. Moving in. I’m staying near that hotel.”
Period.
No emojis.
No excuses.
And sure enough…
30 minutes later, Mas Adinegoro actually showed up
at Jalan Menenangkan Pikiran—
one of the most prestigious areas in the heart of Surabaya.
This was not a WhatsApp-style “OTW”.
This was real OTW.
So, naturally…
we sat down, talked, and had a light yet meaningful discussion:
about community development, the future, and of course—
☕ Javanese coffee.
In between sips, Mas Adi casually shared a story—
even though the story itself was anything but casual.
Turns out, his office was organizing a major event involving the people of Surabaya,
and Mas Adi was the Person In Charge.
PIC.
For a big event.
In a big city.
With big-city people.
And mind you, Mas Adi is actually my junior.
But his achievements?
He once served as a National Leader.
Not “national” in a WhatsApp group.
But real national.
All I could do was nod while sipping my coffee, thinking:
“This PY (Participating Youth) doesn’t just show up fast—
he levels up fast too.”
In short:
Top-notch. Absolutely impressive. Hats off to Mas Adinegoro.
And one thing is for sure—
if I ever post another random coffee coordinate in the group,
I already know:
Mas Adinegoro will be the first to arrive.
