Down here, the air-conditioning works faithfully and life feels strangely well-managed. Bangkok seems to have built a small alternate universe—one level below reality, but one level more comfortable.

This underground mall gently reminds us that sometimes, to move forward with a clear head, all we need to do is go down one floor and take a deeper breath.
