BLI NARKA: THE LEGEND OF IT MANAGER
Eh, Alhamdulillah, Tuhan ternyata pendengar setia obrolan Kantin Sanur Beach Hotel. Hehehe

BLI NARKA: THE LEGEND OF THE IT MANAGER
I call him Bli Narka, the living legend of Aerowisata’s IT Manager back in Bali some 30 years ago—an era when computers loved to throw tantrums and IT people were basically digital shamans.
In 1999, I moved to Bali. For the next three years, we worked side by side—I as a Duty Manager, and Bli Narka, eternally calm, reigning as the IT Manager. He ruled cables, servers, and all the mysterious things that made everyone else instantly dizzy.
One day at the hotel canteen, feeling unusually visionary (and slightly overconfident), I joked,
“Bli, if one day I become a GM, I want to visit your house in the village, meet your big family, and eat boiled cassava together.”
At the time, it sounded like a ridiculous daydream—canteen-level prophecy at best.
Well… Alhamdulillah, God apparently enjoys listening to casual conversations at the Sanur Beach Hotel canteen. Years passed, titles changed, and then—boom—this 2011 photo suddenly appeared on my phone. Sent directly by Bli Narka, with a short but deadly message:
“Still remember?”
I burst out laughing. Turns out boiled cassava isn’t just village carbs—it’s living proof that prayers sometimes get approved… quietly… with a sense of humor.
Hehehe
